The Challenge
The largest DIY retailer in Benelux faced logistical challenges, including balancing daily supply to multiple stores and addressing a bottleneck caused by the slowest pick rate within a 2,500 sq m mezzanine area. They needed to double turnover within the limited mezzanine space and improve the frequency and specificity of stock replenishments. Additionally, the third-party logistics service provider required significant efficiency improvements to handle increased demand.
The Objectives
The Solution
Eiratech and its partner implemented an optimised solution featuring over 33,000 storage spaces and 32 Goods to Person Eirabots. Six unique picking stations were established, increasing picker efficiency by 150%. A unique tote collection and box sortation conveyor system was installed, all orchestrated by a Warehouse Control System (WCS).
